Barnes<\/p>\n<p>Univeristy of Miami and JAEA<\/p>\n<p>Abstract: I will describe how the Rashba spin-orbit coupling can be used for the electrical control of magnetism. It is also important in the \u201cchiral spin-torque transfer process\u201d as recently observed experimentally. This coupling to magnetism to electric fields also leads to spin dependent forces, i.e., to a spin-motive forces (SMF).
